In today's fast-paced world, plans can change in the blink of an eye.
Whether you have a last-minute trip, a sudden illness, or an unexpected event, needing to cancel a reservation is a common scenario.
To avoid unnecessary costs, understanding cancellation policies—including fees and regulations—is crucial.
This post will explore various facets of cancellation policies, holiday fees, and the rules that govern them. With this knowledge, you will be well-prepared for your next booking.
Cancellation Policies
Cancellation policies are the rules that businesses set regarding how and when you can cancel a reservation.
For instance cancellation policy for walks and trail walks state the following
100% fee within 24 hours
50% fee within 48 hours
The amount will be determined on the cost of the service ranging from our 25 minute walk to our 60 minute walks
For overnight pet sitting/pet sitting services
100% within 48 hours
50% within three days
And 25% within seven days
We are committed to minimizing and waiving fees wherever possible through effective communication, respect, and understanding. These policies are essential for safeguarding our small business and supporting our staff members against potential income loss.
Holiday Fees
During peak seasons like holidays or major events, we implement holiday fees.
These extra charges help cover increased costs and the limited availability of services during high-demand periods.

Canada Day (Sun 6/29 - Tue 7/1)
Labor Day (Sat 8/30 - Mon 9/1)
Christmas (Tue 12/23 - Fri 12/26)
New Years (Wed 12/31 - Thu 1/1)
Booking Within 24 Hours Fee
We have introduced a new policy regarding last-minute bookings.
Clients will incur an additional charge of $10 for appointments scheduled within 24 hours of the start time.
We are immensely grateful for the growth we have experienced over the past few years, which has resulted in a consistent booking pattern where clients often schedule their appointments weeks or even months in advance.
Accommodating last-minute bookings poses significant challenges for my team, as it disrupts the schedules of clients who have booked well in advance and affects our team's pre-planned commitments.
We fully understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. With proper communication, respect, and understanding, we will make every effort to accommodate last-minute requests and waive the fee when possible.
Last-minute requests
Set a cut-off time and/or automatically apply a fee for last-minute requests
No requests within 8 hours
Add $10 fee for requests
within 24 hours
Clients have the option to enroll in automatic booking based on a schedule that best suits their needs. This can include Monday through Friday, shift schedules such as seven days on and seven days off, 14 days on and 14 days off, or every other sunday. We are flexible and can accommodate your preferred scheduling arrangement.
To avoid incurring these fees, it is advisable to plan ahead and cancel as early as possible. In the event of a last-minute cancellation, consider reaching out directly to the provider. They may be willing to waive the fee, particularly if you have a valid reason, such as illness or an emergency.
Communication and transparency, coupled with respect, are our top priorities.
We aim to ensure that everyone is satisfied with their services and that we are providing the utmost care.
